Wireless ResNet Configuration
for MAC OS X
Open your Internet
browser (Safari). If you have a connection to ResNet, you should be
directed to a page titled “Cougar ResNet Authentication”. If you reach
this page, you have a connection to the network and everything is
configured correctly. After you sign in on
the “Cougar ResNet Authentication” page, you should be able to open your
browser and begin using the internet. Mac users are not required
to install Clean Access. You do NOT have to continue any further
in this document. If you did not reach the “Cougar ResNet Authentication”
page, please follow the instructions below.
1) Click
on the Airport icon located in the top right-hand corner of the screen.
(If airport is off, the icon will appear as an outline of the icon shown
below without any signal bars.)
2) If
Airport is off, select AirPort: On.
3) Select
“resnet” from the menu. (If “resnet” is not shown, skip to step 5.)
4) After
selecting “resnet”, open your internet browser. If you reach a page
titled “Cougar ResNet Authentication”, you have a connection and do not
need to go any further on these instructions. If you still do not get a
connection, go to step 5.
5) Select
System Preferences from the Apple Menu and select Network.
A screen similar to the one shown below should appear.

6) On
the TCP/IP tab, select Automatic from the Location
menu.
7) Click
Show, and select Airport from the drop-down menu.
8) From
the Configure IPv4 menu, select
Using DHCP.
9) The
DHCP Client ID, DNS Servers, and Search Domains boxes should
all be blank. Delete any information already present in these fields.
10) Click
Apply Now to keep the changes you have made.
11) The
IP Address should begin with 10 and be in the following format:
10.x.x.x
You should now be connected to ResNet.
